The first Passover for the Israelites fell on a Wednesday, at the exact time as it was during the Crucifixion. Chapter Eight of this series shows exactly how this timeline parallels the events of both Old and New Testaments. In Nu.33:2, God instructs Moses to write down the journeys of the Israelites and to record their goings out. The timing of these great events must have been quite significant for God to instruct Moses to preserve the history, making certain the times were made known for future generations.
But why?
To answer that question, one must take that journey with the Israelites, noting carefully the times given. This Power Point presentation takes us through that journey, showing maps that trace the steps of the Israelites as they leave Egypt. The encampments are of particular importance and Moses did exactly as God had instructed him to do. By reading through his writings, we are able to piece together the journeys of the ‘goings out,’ just as God commanded.
We see a story being told that began long before the Exodus. When the parallels are set in place and the picture becomes clearer, one can understand the relationship between God and the Israelites and the relationship between God through Christ and today’s believers. Eph. 1:4 says, “For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love.”
