Walks on Water
Matthew 14:22-34 (NIV)
Jesus performed many miracles. One night he even walked on water to meet his
disciples who were in a boat on the Lake. The disciples were very startled to see Jesus
walking on the water towards them. Peter said to Jesus, "tell me to come to you on
the water." Jesus said "Come" and Peter got out of the boat and started to
walk on the water toward Jesus. That took a lot of faith. But then he became afraid
because of the wind and began to sink and cried out to the Jesus to save him. Read Matthew
14:31 (NIV) and fill in the blanks below to see what Jesus did and said to Peter.
Jesus reached out his hand
and caught him. " You of _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ ," he said, "why did you _ _ _ _ _?"
Just as Jesus wanted
Peter to have greater faith in Him and the power of God so he wants us to have faith that
God will help us to do the things that we know God wants us to do. Read verse 32 and
fill in the blanks to see what the disciples said after Jesus climbed into the boat with
them.
