Here is an update for Carolyn Woodcock, wife of Elwood
Woodcock, a COGMI minister in Georgia: Carolyn began to have
problems with confusion, trouble with her speech and falling
down. She was told several weeks ago that her ammonia levels
were high, which explained why she was having problems. An
ultra-sound of her liver was done and showed that the right
lobe of her liver was three times its normal size. Because
the liver was swollen, it couldn’t help her body properly
dispose of the ammonia.
Carolyn fell three times this past week, bruising her face
and head. She was taken to the doctor this past Friday after
a fall and was then hospitalized. Carolyn had a liver biopsy
done a couple of weeks ago and her family was told the
results of that last night. They are being cautious about
saying that the liver is cancerous.
Carolyn is now in the Houston Medical Center in Warner
Robins, GA. She will be there for 4 or 5 days while they are
trying to stabilize her. Then, they plan to send her to the
Emory Medical Center in Atlanta, GA. The doctors there will
try to repair her liver, and if it can’t be repaired, they
will begin looking into doing a liver transplant for her.
Elwood called this morning and he is in really bad shape
himself. As you know, he was exposed to Agent Orange while
in military service and, because of that, he has malaria,
which comes and goes. He is diabetic and also has a hole in
his esophagus. Right now he is so stressed and needs our
prayers the same as Carolyn. All their children are with
them right now, which is a good thing for Elwood, because
they will make sure that he eats and takes his medication;
they will also be able to comfort and encourage Carolyn.
The Woodcock family is asking for us all to please go to our
Heavenly Father and ask Him for his mercy and to heal
Carolyn and Elwood. This family has really “gone through the
fire’ this past year. Elwood and Carolyn belong to God and
have been His loyal servants for many years.
They want to thank each one of you for your prayers. Manis
or I will keep you all updated about their situation.
Love to each one of you,
Manis and Anna Samons |
